Detailed Itinerary
Day - 1 - Arrive Delhi
You arrive in Delhi by International flight. After traditional
Swagat'(Welcome) our representative would assist you at the airport & to
our hotel for check-in. After breakfast we will go on a guided tour of Delhi
at 1000 hrs, beginning with a morning sightseeing trip to Gandhi Memorial at
Raj Ghat & a drive around India Gate & President's House. In the
afternoon visits to Humayun's Tomb, Lotus Temple(Closed on Monday) &
Qutub Minar. Overnight Hotel- Delhi (B).
Day - 2 - Delhi - Haridwar (225 km - 5 hrs)
Early morning after breakfast drive to Haridwar. Upon arrival check-in
hotel. Later in the afternoon visit Mansa Devi temple & in the evening
enjoy the spectacular view of 'Aarti' at Har ki Pauri. Later spend your time
on the Ghat.
Haridwar on the banks of River Ganges (Ganga) & located at foothills of
the lower Himalayan Range of the Shivalik mountains. Its an important
pilgrimage site for Hindus. When the Ganges leaves mountains & enters
the plains, Haridwar is the first major town on the plains. Though Ganges
does not lose its rapids completely, nevertheless it becomes very quiet &
calm here. Haridwar has earned fame as being the place, which has been
blessed by Trinity of Hinduism, Brahma (Creator), Vishnu (Preserver) &
Shiva (Destroyer). Its one of the major Shakti Peeths (Shakti Peeth - sacred
spot where temple of goddess Shakti has special mythological significance).
Down the ages, Haridwar has purified the mind, body & soul of people not
only in spiritual or religious terms but as a major learning centre for
arts, science & culture. Overnight Hotel- Haridwar (B)
Day - 3 - Haridwar - Rudraprayag (175 km - 6 hrs)
After breakfast we meet the rafting crew & drive to Rudraprayag. The
entire drive is along the River Ganga up to Devprayag. We stop at Devprayag
for excellent view of the confluence of Rivers Alaknanda & Bhagirathi
making the holy Ganges. From Devprayag we take the road along the River
Alaknanda. On arrival at Rudraprayag, check-in the Hotel. Evening at
leisure. Overnight Hotel- Rudraprayag (B, D)
Day - 4 - Rudraprayag - Srinagar (Raft 5-6 hrs)
After breakfast we walk to the rafting point, little before the confluence
of Rivers Alaknanda & Mandakini. After the complete safety briefing &
setting equipment, we raft down River Alaknanda to Srinagar. After hitting
good rapids & rafting through the gorge we stop at Dhari Devi, one of
the most important Goddesses of the area. After lunch we raft down till
Srinagar. We Camp on the river side little before Srinagar. Overnight Camp
-Srinagar (B,D)
Day - 5 - Srinagar - Devprayag (Raft 5-6 hrs)
After breakfast we raft down till Devprayag. On the way we visit some
ancient remote temples around Srinagar, the ancient capital of Garhwal. We
have our lunch on the way. We Camp little before Devprayag. Overnight Camp -
Devprayag (B,D)
Day - 6 - Devprayag - Kaudiyala (Raft 5-6 hrs)
Today we raft down till Kaudiyala. On the way we stop at Byas Ghat, famous
as "The Anglers' Paradise". We arrive Kaudiyala after hitting some
good rapids. At night we enjoy the Campfire at the Camp & share the
experience of the Day. Overnight Camp - Kaudiyala (B,D)
Day - 7 - Kaudiyala - Brahmpuri (Raft 5-6 hrs)
After breakfast we again start rafting. Most of the exciting rapids on the
river we hit today with interesting names like, The Wall, Three Blind Mice,
Cross Fire, Roller Coaster, Golf Course, Club House etc. We finally arrive
at our Camp at Brahmpuri. Evening is free to explore the area. At night we
again enjoy the Campfire & share among ourselves the experiences of this
exciting Day. Overnight Camp - Brahmpuri (B,D)
Day - 8 - Brahmpuri - Rishikesh (Raft 2-3 hrs)
After breakfast we raft down to Rishikesh. At Rishikesh our rafting
expedition finishes, after goodbye to our rafting team we check-in the
Hotel.
Rishikesh is a very important Hindu pilgrimage site. There is also a
cluster of a number of Ashrams & temples giving the entire place a very
spiritual atmosphere. The ceaseless flow of the river, regarded as Goddess
Ganga adds to the beauty & the purity of the place. Along the river,
area is filled with thick green forests in the all-mountainous region. Its
famous for its yoga & meditation sessions by many yoga experts, also
very popular centre for Ayurveda system of healing (traditional Indian
medicine system). Besides sadhus & saints, a mass of tourists too visit
this place every year to have a look at this much heard about place. In
addition to wonderful scenery & numerous pilgrimage sites, Rishikesh
makes some of the most popular adventure sport destinations of India like
river rafting, trekking, rock climbing, hiking.
Later we will visit Laxman Jhula, Ram Jhula, Geeta Bhawan, other temples &
ashrams. Overnight Hotel- Rishikesh (B)
Day - 9 - Rishikesh - Delhi (250 km - 6 hrs)
After leisurely breakfast we drive back to Delhi & reach by late
afternoon. On arrival check-in the Hotel. Evening at leisure. Overnight
Hotel- Delhi (B)
Day - 10 - Delhi - Agra - Delhi (220 km - 5 hrs one way)
After an early breakfast, we leave at 0730 hrs to Agra, erstwhile capital
of great Mughals & known for Taj Mahal. It has always fascinated Indians
& foreigners alike. Most of Agra is on West bank of river Yamuna, with
the Agra Fort & Taj Mahal at its nucleus. Taj Mahal is quite simply one
of mankind's most remarkable creations.
At Agra we visit the incredible architectural excellence of Taj Mahal
(Closed on Friday), built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved
wife Mumtaz Mahal. Next we visit Agra Fort, built principally as a military
establishment by Akbar in 1565. Red sandstone Agra Fort was partially
converted into a palace during Shah Jahan's time. This massive Fort is 2.5
km long, is considered as the predecessor of the Delhi Red Fort. After
visiting the Fort & if time permits, we will visit Sikandra (Tomb of
Emperor Akbar). Later we drive back to Delhi. (No accommodation)
Day - 11 - Depart Delhi
Our tour concludes : We thanks you for your patronage & ensures a
punctual transfer to the International airport for your onward travel to
your next destination.
