Detailed Itinerary (Package One : 2 nights & 3 days)
Day 1 :
Arrival at Muthoot Cardmom County (MCC)-welcome drink-lunch-jeep safari to
the mountains-return-dinner-overnight stay at MCC.
Day 2 :
Start on the jungles trek at 7:30 am from the boat landing, for about one
and a half hours (approx 4 kms)-Packed breakfast from MCC-start off on the
bamboo raft (weather permitting) which takes you on a unique trip into the
core areas of the jungle and also the non-tourism zones, to see a variety of
wildlife including Elephants-Tiger-Leopard-Bison (Gaur)-Sambar deer
Otters-Bear-Wild dogs-A rich variety of bird life can also be observed.
Lunch will be served in the jungle (prepared by forest staff)-Continue
rafting and at about 3.30 pm the raft will drop you on the shore- Trek
further-reach the Forest Bunglow for an overnight stay in the middle of the
jungle-A guard will stay with you and also cook and serve dinner-Leave for
MCC at7:00 am the next morning, after a refreshing hot cup fo black
tea/coffee.
Day 3 :
Breakfast at 9:30 am at the resort-As a grand finale, relax with an
Ayurvedic massage ( can also be done on the first day after the Jeep
safari)-Check out.
Package Two : (3 nights & 4 days)
Day 4 :
This is an extension of package One-Stay the night at MCC. Check out the
following day.
The forest Bunglow is owned and maintained by the Forest Department. This
trek is a complete rough-it-out experience, where you will get to commune
closely with Nature, manage with just the basic essentials andpay due
respect to the rules and regulations of the Forest.

BIRD -WATCH
Almost 280 bird species depend on this eco-region-Malabar hornbill, black
and white body with a large horn-shaped yellow bill, flight is noisy and
clumsy-Darter (snakebird), black with silver streaks, its long slender neck
resembles a snake especially while swimming Lesser Pied Kingfisher, black
and white, with a sharp bill- Dabchick (little grebe)- Grey heron
White-necked Stork- Brahmini Kite, are among the most commonly sighted.
WILD-WATCH
The goal-antelope Nilgiri tahr is found nowhere else in the world also
endemic to the region- Malabar parakeet- Malabar grey hornbill Nilgiri
pipit-Nilgiri fly-catcher- Elephants, perhaps alone among land animals, who
use infra sound (low frequency) to communicate to each other-The tiger,
elusive and difficult to see, hiding itself in dense thickets most of the
time unless there has been a long dry spell- Flying lizard,Flying snake-King
cobra-malabar flying squirrel-Bear-Porcupine Wild Boar, are some of the
other wildlife attractions.
ECO-WATCH
This is one of the world's most important eco-regions protecting near
endemic and wholly endemic species-The lunch forests, nourished by the long
and copious monsoon (over 99 inches annually) act as a giant filtration
plant and purifies the air, rejuvenating all life forms-Over a quarter of
India's plant species, including rare and endangered ones, are found here
Orchids-Fungi-Sandalwood- Teak Mahogany-Rosewood-medicinal plants the
layered vegetation includes evergreen 'sholas' typical to the Western
Ghats-The three protected sanctuaries of the Western Ghats region covers
less than 1% of the total area.
